Lowest water inflow for 50 years in South Bristol area
Bristol Water has reported that the inflow for December was the lowest in the region since 1960 and that the total water inflow for 2010 was roughly half that expected in a normal year.
The report published on the company’s website goes on to say that ‘significant, prolonged rainfall is needed soon to refill all reservoirs by April’. The company has a Drought Contingency Plan but is not planning to introduce hose pipe bans.
